World of Speed - A Motorsports Museum in Oregon

Pedal to the metal junkies can get behind the wheel of one of three race car simulators at Wilsonville’s World of Speed Motorsports Museum. Choose from a 1962 Lotus Formula Racecar, Adrian Fernandez’s 1995 Lola Indy Car or Johnny Benson’s 1998 NASCAR Ford Taurus. Each 12-minute racing session is its own unique adventure.

Get in on some pin action at Wilsonville Lanes. The 22-lane bowling alley is a casual place to grab a drink and practice rolling strikes. Kick your game up a notch with cosmic bowling. Or start your own air hockey tournament in the arcade. The alley also has a pro shop and league practice for diehard bowlers.

Golfers will love the cool vibes of Hillsboro’s Top Golf, a covered driving range with over 100 climate-controlled hitting bays. Rent a bay by the hour. Take a lesson. Nosh on upscale bar food and sip on creative cocktails while whacking dimpled white balls into the great wide yonder.

The Circuit Bouldering Gym in Tigard is one of the largest bouldering gyms in the country. Climbers of all experience levels are both challenged and encouraged by the community of strong-fingered people who frequent the gym. Routes are changed weekly and an Intro to Bouldering class (as well as private instruction) is available for those interested in a bit of vertical recreation.

Catch a Portland Trail Blazers game with 19,000 of your newest pals at the Rose Quarter’s Moda Center. Cheer loud. Cheer hard. The arena’s specially-designed acoustics are intended to amplify the roar of the crowd and direct the noise from the upper levels to the court.

The Winterhawks, Portland’s Western Hockey League team, split their time between the Moda Center and Memorial Coliseum next door. Games are rowdy and filled with heart and soul. Go. Watch these thirsty young players. And someday be able to say, “I saw him before he became an NHL star.”

If sitting back and cheering on your team with a pint in hand is more your style, tuck yourself into a booth or cozy up to the bar at one of Wilsonville’s sports pubs.

Wow Burger and Red Robin both have TVs to watch the game while noshing on fresh gourmet burgers and craft beer. Wilsonville’s local breweries — McMenamins, Vanguard, and Ordnance — are also excellent hubs for a day of watching sports and drinking good beer.

G-Man Sports Bar in Tualatin is a bustling sanctuary for all things sports. Dozens of flat-screen TVs are tuned into premium sports channels all day long. No game is left unseen.
