Air up your tires, check your brakes, pack your helmet and BYOB – bring your own bike – on your trip to Wilsonville! Whether you’re an avid cyclist or just wanting to learn, Wilsonville boasts hundreds of miles of bike-friendly trails for everyone. May is National Bike Month, but we celebrate all year long in Wilsonville.

Oregon is home to the only Scenic Bikeways program in the nation! These aren’t your average bike paths. These trails are official state-designated routes, curated by professionals. Each route boasts its own maps, GPS data and signage, but more importantly they show off some of Oregon’s most unique and scenic locations. From mountain passes and winding rivers, to the iconic Willamette Valley wine region, these trails showcase all Oregon has to offer.

For Experienced Cyclists

Kick off your vacation with a ride on the first official scenic bikeway in the United States. Starting at Champoeg State Heritage Area, the 100+ mile Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway will have you peddling through historic sites, past rows of vines and through fields of hops.

For a shorter taste of the Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway, try riding the 30+ mile loop from Champoeg to Willamette Mission State Park. Stop by the Butteville General Store before heading out and pack a picnic to enjoy at the state park before looping back to Champoeg.

For more nearby scenic bikeways, consider venturing out to the Tualatin Valley Scenic Bikeway or take it easy with a ride through the Covered Bridges Scenic Bikeway.

For Families with Young Kids

Journey back in time as you explore a landscape shaped by historic floods. Ride through the Ice Age Tonquin Trail at Graham Oaks Nature Park, with 3 miles of paved trail and lots to look at and learn. It’s the perfect place for parents to get their kids interested in biking.

Mix up your biking trip with a visit to Memorial Park, located right on the Willamette River. Memorial Park has a plethora of trails, but it’s also equipped with a skatepark, tennis courts, baseball fields, basketball courts, pickleball courts, a disc golf course and nature play area. Spend the day there and enjoy a meal from nearby Dar Essalam.

For more riding fun take a loop around French Prairie Road in the Charbonneau District near Charbonneau Golf Club and finish your ride by rewarding the whole family with a treat from Lux Sucre Desserts or a hearty meal at Curry’s Landing.

Annual Biking Events
