Four Can’t-Miss activities for summer

Summer activities in Wilsonville are still open for you and your family to squeeze in before school starts! Here are four ideas to inspire your getaway.

1. Farmers Markets

Bounty from the Willamette Valley harvest awaits you on the sidewalks at Sofia Park! Every Thursday, the small but darling park in the Villebois neighborhood is clad with color from fruits and veggies during the Wilsonville Farmers Market. Follow the sun as it prepares for dusk between the hours of 4-8 p.m., and the scent of fresh BBQ and artisan eats will follow.

Complete your tour of the newly opened farmers markets with the Canby counterpart across the river on Saturdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

2. Indoor Recreation

If you’d rather escape the Pacific Northwest heat this summer, the Sherwood Ice Arena is open three days a week! Skaters and spectators alike are welcome at the coolest place in town to enjoy hockey, figure skating and private parties.

Bullwinkle’s is open seven days a week with new summer hours. Reservations are no longer required! All rides are now open—yes, even the ziplines. Try your hand at laser tag, bumper boats, go-karts and more.

3. Outdoor Dining

Wine country is a great place to take things outside. The vast outdoor space at Lady Hill Winery features tastings on the shaded patio and cozy conversations on the lawn.

The farm-to-plate experience at Our Table Cooperative is back this summer! Our Table in the Field was named one of USA Today’s 10 Best and Travel + Leisure’s Farm Dinners Not to Miss. A multi-course meal complete with wine and a farm tour is outdoor dining at its finest.

4. Flying High

The flying season is underway at Portland Rose Balloons. If the mountain is out, you should be too! Snag views of Mt. Hood after liftoff from the Aurora Airport just south of Wilsonville. The only hot air balloon company in Oregon to fly seven days a week has been a staple for permitted open-air activities, and it’s here to stay to lift you closer to the summer sun.
